The 2025 edition of The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World Report will, as in previous years, provide the latest updates on the food security and nutrition situation around the world, including new estimates on the cost and affordability of healthy diets.
The report will also delve into the challenges that rising food prices present for achieving Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 2.1 and 2.2 targets — namely, ending hunger, food insecurity, and all forms of malnutrition by 2030. It will examine the underlying drivers of recent food inflation, assess its impact on food security and nutrition outcomes, and outline policy responses required to mitigate and prevent its adverse effects.
Presented at the UNFSS+4 Stocktake taking place in Addis Ababa, this latest SOFI report will also highlight how elevated inflation in many countries has undermined purchasing power and, especially among low-income populations, access to healthy diets.
The SOFI report is a joint initiative of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF), the World Food Programme (WFP), and the World Health Organization (WHO).
