YM17 - Indigenous Peoples' Wisdom and Collaboration: A path towards peace and food security for the next 80 years with FAO.

Global Indigenous Peoples' leaders, experts of the Global-Hub on Indigenous Peoples' Food and Knowledge Systems, and Indigenous Youth will take the stage on the final morning of the World Food Forum to offer their reflections and advise on the way forward for peace and food security globally. Rooted in the founding purpose and spirit that informed the creation of the United Nations and FAO, this event will provide inspiration for WFF attendees on how the Charter of the United Nations and the Constitution of FAO are aligned with Indigenous Peoples' values of peace, solidarity, harmony, reciprocity, and spirituality. An emphasis will be given on the importance of the upcoming HLPE report on Preserving, Strengthening and Promoting Indigenous Peoples' food and knowledge systems and traditional practices for sustainable systems to achieve this goal.
